Editing Services I Provide

Developmental, Substantive, or Content Editing (Rate: $4 per page)

This type of editing is the broadest. Work should be in the final stages. I will go through chapter by chapter and provide written reports on the content. This is suggestion driven and will focus on what is and isn’t working.

Structural Editing (Rate: $4 per page)

Structural editing is comprehensive editing of work. It is not as broad as developmental and is a more hands-on editing approach. I will reorganize the work’s structure, consolidate repetition, cut back on fluff and rambling, and make suggestions for improvement.

Copy Editing, Line Editing, or Mechanical Editing (Rate: $0.04 per word)

Copy Editing is the most common editing type. It focuses on paragraphs and words. I will review the paragraph structure, tone, readability, spelling & grammar, and provide constructive feedback on the content.

Proofreading (Rate: $0.04 per word)

Proofreading is the first stage of the editing process. I will focus on spelling, grammar, punctuation, consistency, typos, and format.

Formats I Specialize In

APA, MLA, AP, Chicago

“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.” -Anthony Bourdain
